Ask The Team Pt. 3

What’s your favorite memory of working at HCT?

Jeff Howard, Owner/Founder, and Hanna Rowland, AR/AP Assistant singing karaoke at a company party in 2022.

Hanna Roland

AR/AP Assistant

With a lot to choose from, I think it ultimately comes down to rapping Ludacris during karaoke with my boss, Jeff, during our holiday party lol

Jarvis Smith

Sr. Digital Production Artist

Trying to single out a favorite memory is pretty difficult for me, but one I go back to often is my start with the company. I remember vividly, shaking off excess adhesive powder used on some of the transfers. A process we no longer have to do by hand, but was the only way it could be done back when we were operating out of my uncle's garage. That memory will always stay with me, as it's something I'll forever appreciate now seeing how much we've grown as a company. It's truly amazing how far we have come, and it makes me very proud to be and have been a part of the HCT team. A life changing experience I'm forever grateful for.

Mike Behning

Operations Manager Houston

I have a lot of fun memories looking back at it all. I'm a big fan of all the cookouts. I mean who doesn't love food and a cold beer after a good day of work.

Lindsey Wiseman

Marketing Assistant

My favorite memories of working at HCT would have to be every time we (the marketing team) filmed an Instagram reel or YouTube video and it got really awkward. On occasion, it just doesn't work out as expected and we end up with several hilarious outtakes and strange looks from coworkers.

If you look closely, you can see Jeff Howard, Owner/Founder, doing quality control after the company shut down as a result of the pandemic in March 2020.

Jody Mazade

Marketing Director

One of my favorite HCT memories was actually when the company had to shut down during the pandemic and then the following weeks coming out of the shut down. It was such a scary time and we had to really rely on each other as a team to get through it. I can remember the first day back; front office people were running production, Jeff (owner) was out in the shop catching and doing quality control. It was all-hands-on-deck at that time and it was the teamwork that got us through to the other side. A great memory…now that it’s over, of course! 😉

Marcus Howard

Chief Customer Officer

So many great memories to choose from and so I'm going to cheat a little and use a recent memory. Ryan Love (our Customer Experience Manager) might be one of the best karaoke singers I've ever witnessed in person and it was on full display at our company party last month.

Scott Beu

HR Director

My favorite memory of working at HCT was from circa 2009 when our now Operations Manager, Josh, was playing around with a soccer ball and continuously kicking it against a wall out in Production. Kyle, now our COO, wasn't in the mood for soccer that day. After repeated requests toward Josh to stop, Kyle proceeded to take out his pocket knife and stab the ball, thus deflating it along with Josh's fun. Priceless.

Candy Padilla

Strategic Account Specialist

There are so many to choose from! Our cookouts and hangouts are always a good time, especially when we bust out the karaoke machine. Who knew we had so many talented singers! (I'm looking at you Amanda! lol) I also can't forget about Tim's Friday "You Ain't Poppin' Parties"! LOL But hands down, my favorite memories thus far have been at our 2022 trade show/expo events. Not only have I had the pleasure of representing our company, our products, and what we stand for, but I've had a chance to meet so many incredible people. I love meeting our AWESOME current customers, we have an amazing customer base. I also love seeing new customers' excitement when I explain the solutions we can offer their businesses, its a constant reminder of why I love my job so much. I look forward to continue making more unforgettable memories for years to come!

Production Artist

My favorite memory of working at HCT has been the friendly people, the teamwork atmosphere and a general feeling of fun coming to work. One special event is the Thanksgiving day lunch that our production crew cooked for everybody. There was some people dancing (not me, of course), some people eating (not me, of course) and even some people enjoying the extra liquid desserts (not me, of course) wink, wink!

The time I hid inside a box in the printing area to jump out at the next person who walked by. Nearly got punched by the owner's wife.

Rachael Kerr

Customer Service Manager

My favorite memory of working at HCT is definitely when we moved into the new building. It was like a new adventure. I've been so grateful to see all of our growth over the years and looking forward to creating new memories as we continue to grow as a company!

Jasmine Garcia

Quality Control Lead

I’ve been working at Howard’s for 5 years. My favorite memory so far was our most recent Halloween party. People dressed up, got prizes and the karaoke was amazing! (Shoutout to Amanda for killing it on the mic 🎤) Anytime we get together as a whole company it’s never a dull moment! 💚

Mike Garcia

Production Manager

We had a cookout in 2016 and Kyle cooked a bunch of brats from Ream’s and I remember they were so good that I had like six of them and I felt sick the rest of the day while I was working but it was totally worth it! Just makes me laugh.

Ryan Love

Customer Experience Manager

I have been working here quite some time, and have a lot of fond memories. However, the one that stands out is our holiday party 2019-2020. That party was beyond a blast. I often think of that party, and wish on a Christmas star that we'll have another one like it. Also, we have been doing karaoke at the last few work gatherings, and it is awesome.

Adam Palfi

Production Artist

I've only been here 3 short years, but there have been tons of fun memories. Hard to pinpoint the exact favorite, from the first Christmas party I attended watching everyone let loose, dress up, to the random end-of-the-day Fridays that lead to a handful of beers being drank and endless fantastic conversations about baseball we have. It’s safe to say everyone loves a Friday, but they feel a little more special here at the end of the week, ESPECIALLY when the weather turns for the better. Yeah, Fridays are my favorite HCT memories :)
